The sprinkler irrigation system is usually composed of four parts: water source, first hub, irrigation pipeline system and sprinkler head. Each part contains one or more types of equipment. What are the functions and detailed contents of each part in the sprinkler irrigation system?

Sprinkler irrigation systems

1. Water source

The water sprinkler irrigation system is the same as drip irrigation system, but the water source of sprinkler irrigation must meet the requirements of water quantity and water quality, as well as the working pressure of sprinkler head. When the water source of sprinkler irrigation is higher than that of the irrigated area and there is enough pressure difference, the natural water head can be used to carry out self-pressure sprinkler irrigation.

2. The first hub equipment

This part, like drip irrigation system, mainly includes power machine, water pump, fertilization device and irrigation filter. The pumps are commonly used in sprinkler irrigation systems which include centrifugal pumps, self-priming centrifugal pumps and deep well submersible pumps. Power machines include motors, diesel engines, gasoline engines, and so on. They are often replaced by walking tractors or tractors. Fertilization equipment can be the same with the drip irrigation system. Irrigation filters need to be flexibly matched according to filtration requirements to ensure that the water quality requirements are met. The filter head loss can be reduced as far as possible.

3. Irrigation piping systems

Sprinkler irrigation systems are similar to drip irrigation systems, including irrigation pipes and fittings. The systems have more standpipes than drip irrigation systems. Pipes generally have three main pipes: branch pipe, branch pipe, small engineering general main pipe and branch pipe of two levels. In order to avoid crops affecting the spraying of the sprinkler head, the standpipe is often installed on the branch pipe and then connected to the sprinkler head. The length is generally 0.5~2.5m.

4. Sprinklers

The sprinkler is an important part of the sprinkler irrigation system. The role is to spray the concentrated water with pressure through the nozzle of the sprinkler. Under the resistance of the air or the crushing device, the water is dispersed into tiny droplets and evenly sprayed in the field. Some modern large-scale sprinkler irrigation systems include sprinkler head, water pump, power, water pipeline and walking equipment. They are combined into one mobile whole, which is known as mobile sprinkler irrigation unit or sprinkler machine. The system is more popular in foreign countries. However, the fixed micro-spraying is chosen by domestic people.
